Overview of Hydrocyclones

Hydrocyclones are devices that use centrifugal force to separate solid particles from liquids, commonly used in industrial processes such as classification, thickening, desliming, and dewatering. They generate a high-speed rotating liquid flow to separate materials of different densities.

Working Principle:

When a liquid containing solid particles enters the hydrocyclone under a certain pressure, the liquid spins rapidly inside the cyclone, creating a strong centrifugal force. Heavier solid particles, affected by the larger centrifugal force, are pushed towards the outer wall and slide down along the conical surface, eventually discharged through the underflow outlet as coarse underflow. Lighter liquids and finer solid particles, which experience less centrifugal force, move upward near the central axis, discharged through the overflow outlet as fine overflow.
