The diaphragm jig, also known as a diaphragm jigging machine or diaphragm washing machine, is a widely used gravity separation device in the mineral processing industry. The working principle of the diaphragm jig relies on the reciprocating motion of the diaphragm to generate a pulsating water flow. This pulsating flow causes the material to move both vertically and horizontally within the jig bed. The material rises with the upward water flow and sinks due to gravity when the flow descends. The periodic change in water flow allows denser mineral particles to settle at the bottom of the bed more readily, while less dense particles are carried away by the water flow, achieving separation based on density.
